Robert Frater is Senior General Counsel with the Litigation Branch of the Federal Department of Justice. He is coordinator of criminal appeals to the Supreme Court of Canada for the Department, and has argued more than 40 cases in the Supreme Court. Mr. Frater has written on a variety of legal topics, including being the author of Prosecutorial Misconduct (Canada Law Book, 2009) and co-author of Drug Offences in Canada, 3d ed. He has lectured on a wide variety of topics including criminal law, constitutional law and advocacy. He is currently a member of the Ontario bar, and has also been a member of the Nunavut and N.W.T. bars in the past.
